The event was hosted by the Border Collie Club of Great Britain (BCCGB), and overseeing the action was successful triallist Nij Vyas, with his dogs Skye and Mist.

Chair of BCCGB, Peter Simmons said: ‘It was a fantastic opportunity for dogs that normally grace the show ring to try the task the breed was created for. Many of the dogs were already multi-skilled, competing in agility or obedience as well as being show dogs.

‘The day was a huge success, and the Club is already making plans for the next one.’

As well as a number of dogs that met sheep for the first time, the group were also treated to a demonstration by Ch Littlethorn Colt of Tobermoray handled by Rachel Spencer.

2016 marks the 40th anniversary of the Border Collie Club of Great Britain. The club will be holding a series of events throughout the year that celebrate the versatility of the Border Collie.
